My first experience many years ago with a computer crash and a young tech appeared on behalf of the company since my regular tech was away ---- transferred all the files to the new hard drive (took three days full time), but DID NOT SAVE my pst file... my address book did not get loaded. Apparently the pst file has to be treated differently. Mine was associated with Outlook Express, not Outlook.
However, on a re-try, the pst file was able to be retrieved. That was a scary few days for sure.
I'm not convinced this situation, Ray, is something a general user can fix himself. Others who are experts of course will give you a better response.
