What Realtors® Want
After 18 days on the road and 4,000 miles, and traveling all the way from Southwest Florida to New Hampshire and meeting hundreds of Realtors and speaking with the Realtors individually, I have a pretty good idea what is important to Realtors in 2011.
Today’s experienced Realtor no longer relies on their Brokers to hand hold them, nor do they rely on their Broker to generate their business for them.
As a result the experienced Realtor has no desire to share their hard earned commission with their Brokers. They no longer need the company computer, the company phones and the company’s copiers to do their business. So what they want is to keep all of their commissions.
Every trainer out there will tell you it’s not about money when a Realtor makes a change of Brokerage, however I believe that is old school in today’s world. In this modern world where the Realtor no longer needs the Broker it is indeed all about the MONEY.
What I heard time and time again from the Realtors is that they can’t imagine why any Realtor that is experience and has their own book of business would work for anything less than 100% of their commissions. The Keller Williams Realtors seemed the most aggrieved ny this. It infuriates them that they have to pay $20,000 plus per year before they get to keep 100% of their commissions. I suspect that’s why the Keller Williams organization has such low sales numbers per Realtors per year nationally. The top producers all leave them.
One of the items that was music to my ears was at all the meetings the Realtors kept sharing testimonials on how our service to them is better than the Brick and Mortar Brokerage they came from. The point of the matter is that in today’s world with today’s technology we can do a better job of supporting our Realtors and Brokers in the Virtual World than the brick and mortar Broker that never sees his or hers Realtor.
Just look at our growth over the last 3 year period. While we have grown almost 500% most companies have had a 30 % loss or more.
We are thrilled will the new reports out from Real Trends. They show us as #5 among all Real Estate Brokerages in the country in closed transactions per office. What an amazing feat for a company that is less than four years old. They also rank us as #10 in closed sales volume per office.
All in all what I learned on our 18 day road trip is that Allison James Estates and Homes seem to be doing everything right for the Realtor. If we continue to treat our Realtors as our customers and continue to give them all the support that they deserve, then we should continue to double our growth every year.
