RealTown’s own Saul Klein will be part of the Generational Marketing and Negotiating Panel to be held on Friday, November 13, from 12:30 – 2:30 P.M.
The goal of this session is to identify and understand generational traits that impact housing choices, financial products, communication methods, negotiating strategies, and investment decisions.
The attendee will also learn how the “generation gap” affects the trends in brokerage practices and technological advancements.
This panel of national experts will share their decades of experience to help the attendee develop the skill sets needed to work with buyers and sellers of multiple generations. These interaction skills also apply to inter and intra office relationships and transactional platforms.
The panel includes Klein, Amy Chorew, Tom Hayman, Carmen Multhauf and Stefan Swanepoel.
Klein, author, speaker and educator, is the real estate Industry's first Internet Evangelist, 1993 President of the San Diego Association of REALTORS® and a Licensed California Real Estate Broker since 1977 and Certified Financial Planner since 1984. Saul is also Founder and CEO of InternetCrusade, creators of e-PRO, the Technology Certification program of the National Association of REALTORS, and other industry online courses.
Saul has been recognized as one of the top 25 most influential people in real estate in the United States by REALTOR® Magazine, published by NAR/National Association of REALTORS® in 2001. He was also named to INMAN News’ Top 100 Most Influential People in Real Estate in 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008. On January 1, 2008 he took the helm of Point2 Technologies as CEO and set in motion an MLS strategy to provide MLSs nationwide with a syndication engine to provide this needed service to their subscribers and participants at no cost.
Saul is a 1972 graduate of the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis and served for 5 years as a Surface Warfare Officer.
Chorew is an experienced real estate salesperson and marketing director who has expanded her career to teaching Realtors® the use of technology since 1995. Amy’s straightforward approach to education is backed-up by real field experience that is appreciated by brokers and agents as they learn new technology skills. She puts her talents to use by creating fun learning environments for her students.
Since joining Matthew Ferrara & Company in 1999, Amy has become a sought after instructor on the national scene in addition to her New England presence. Amy also teaches for Associations of Realtors® and brokerages in Canada. She specializes in skill-development and technology courses.
Tom Hayman is a licensed real estate agent in Arizona and the founder of Negotiation Expertise, LLC, a national negotiation training company serving the real estate industry. Tom came to the real estate industry after 25 years as a professional negotiator for The Procter & Gamble Company. Tom’s corporate career included living in Japan for 4 years, managing regional and global businesses, and extensive international travel.
Tom has a B.S. from the United States Naval Academy and a M.S. from the University of Southern California. He served 5 years in the United States Marine Corps as a radar officer in F4 tactical jets. He has received negotiation training from Harvard University, The Wharton School, and KARRASS, plus economics training from Oxford University in Oxford, England. He has earned the ABR, GHS, GRI, CSSN and CSP Designations and is a certified ePro; Tom is the author of the new Certified Negotiation Expert (CNE) designation for real estate professionals. He has been interviewed by REALTOR® Magazine and U.S. News and World Report, and published in various industry periodicals.
Tom’s personal passion is to educate real estate professionals in the critical skill of negotiation while helping to increase professional standards in the real estate industry.
Multhauf is a licensed real estate broker with 3 decades of real estate experience including ownership of a brokerage and regional directorship of a franchise organization. She has been active with organized real estate associations serving as local Association President and as a Director with the California Association of Realtors®. She has chaired various committees and earned a Realtor® of the Year award.
She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations from U.C.L.A. that included one year of study at the University of Madrid, Spain. She has continued her quest for knowledge in real estate by earning 6 Designations. She is an active member of the Real Estate Educators Association.
Carmen founded Training and Broker Services (TABS) and authored the Real Estate Guide Series, which provides a "hands on" approach to real estate practice for both new and experienced licensees. Her creation of the new and vibrant Generational Housing Specialist™ designation, co-authored by her researcher husband, expands on knowledge discovered while authoring the initial SRES designation education module. The Multhuaf’s won the 2008 Robert Bruss First Time Author award for their book “Generational Housing: Myth or Mastery”.
Swanpoel is widely recognized as the leading visionary and analyst on real estate business trends and change in the industry. He has penned 14 books, whitepapers and reports including the 1998 Amazon.com bestseller, Real Estate confronts Reality (1997), the sequel Real Estate confronts the Future (2004) and the annual Swanepoel Real Estate TRENDS Report. The latest 2009 edition was released February 2nd and weighs in at 170-pages.
His academic accomplishments include a bachelor’s in science, a master’s in business economics, and diplomas in arbitration, mergers and acquisitions, real estate, computer science, and marketing.
Today Stefan serves as CEO of the RealtyU Group, one of the largest career development companies in the real estate industry. The group includes businesses such as the RealtyU School Network, iSucceed, Create a Plan, and the Seller Agency Council, as well as providers for designation courses such as Home-Staging, Luxury Homes and Generational Housing Specialist.
