New Agents and the National Association of REALTORS®

I was reading the 2018 National Association of REALTORS® member profile this weekend and as we'd expect the addition of new agents to the industry has been robust.

The report explains, "In 2018, there was a continued rise in new members of the National Association of REALTORS®, increasing from 1.22 million in March 2017 to 1.30 million in April 2018."

And it's no surprise that nearly 30% of REALTORS® have less than two years of experience, "Those who had less than two years of experience was 29 percent in 2017."

However, as with many endeavors, experience and time is the key to finding success as an agent, "The median years of experience in real estate was 10 years. Additionally, tenure at firm was a median of four years again this year."

The challenge for many new agents is sustaining themselves while they gain traction and earn business in their new line of work. You can read the complete NAR member profile here.
