What does 2007 hold for Real Estate in Columbus GA?

Inventories are up, mortgage rates are down, what does all this mean for 2007?  We think it means a lot of real estate will be sold in 2007!   Our reasoning for this is that the economy is basically good, especially in Columbus, and we now have a great situation.   Because of the high inventory sellers are willing to deal!  Last year most sellers were in denial about the change in the market.  Now they realize that they are going to have to price competitively to sell their home.  Additionally, home sellers are going to have to help substantially with closing costs and be flexible in other areas.    So this means a buyer can get a great deal on a home!   He can buy the home at a great price, get the seller to pay closing costs, and finance the home at a low interest rate.  We think this is going to bring buyers back and there is a lot of inventory to sell.  Combining this with the strong economy in our area should create a perfect storm for the Columbus GA Real Estate Market in 2007!  

The Real Estate Bubble did not burst!!

The Columbus GA Real Estate market has leveled and seems to be on the move again!!    The market seemed to be dead here for a couple of months but we have noticed a definite uptick in movement for buyers.   Buyers have an opportunity to use the rates and the recent downturn to help them get a really great deal on their new home.   Nationally things look good.  Interest Rates are still extremely low, employment rates are excellent.  Locally we have a lot of good news with the Fort Benning expansion, AFLAC expansion, KIA plant locating nearby, and the affiliate businesses locating near these expansions.   We expect at least 3 Billion dollars in expansion in the near future.  This does not take into account the ripple effect from these expansions in all businesses in the area.     Read about some of the Best of Columbus GA on our other blog.  

Columbus GA - World Series Champs!

You heard it right.  Columbus GA defeated Japan without a nuclear bomb.  Kyle Carter pitched an awsome game with a 75 -80 mph fast ball ( equivalent to 100 -105 in the major leagues because of the shortened distance to home plate.)  Josh Lester led the defense and offense making strong defensive plays at 2nd base and showing his team that the Japanese pitcher could be hit.  It was quite a game as Cody Walker drove a 2 run homer over the fence bringing in young Josh.   That was all Kyle Carter needed.  He pitched lights out from there - to bring the World Series Championship home to Columbus GA.
