FC ST. LOUIS MEDALS

AT "SHOW-ME" GAMES

As they did last year, FC STL went undefeated in bracket play, posting 3 shut-outs along the way, & reached the Championship game for the second successive year. Last year, tied 1-1 at the end of regulation, they ended up losing in penalty kicks to a very tough U City team. This year, however, it was a bit different.

Scoring 1st on an excellent unassisted effort by Jack Coleman, the FC STL side took an early 1-0 lead & appeared to be on their way to a win. However, the Keystone Homes team, built around Chris Caccitiore, Steve Musenfecter, Tom Malle & Eric Delabar, evened the score at 1-1 on a controversial play & then took the lead at 2-1 on another contested play that resulted in a penalty kick.

Later in the 2nd half, the Keystone team scored 2 more goals to put the game out of reach in this 95 degree missouri summer heat, & took home the gold. The FC STL, for the 2nd year in a row, was awarded the silver for their 2nd place finish.

Scoring for the FC STL side: Nick Vitale, Jack Coleman  & Tom Simpson, 2 goals each; Eddie Muehlheausler, John Muehlheausler, Steve Vitale, & Wally Stokes, 1 goal each. See ya'll next year!!!
