Greater Greenville SC Residential Real Estate(includes Condos/Townhouses) Market Conditions, Homes Sold, Average Days on Market, Listings, and Homes for Sale - April 2010

In April 2010, there were 678 residential single family homes, including Condos and Townhouses, that closed escrow in the Greater Greenville real estate market. This is +33% percent increase from the 510 units that was sold in April 2009, and 101 units higher than the 577 units that were sold in March 2010. This is an indicator that the Greenville housing market is showing significant improvements.

Average sales price in Greater Greenville for April 2010 was $165,833, Median sales price was $142,500, and total sales volume was $112,434,586. The average Days on Market(DOM) in Greater Greenville for the month of April was 103 days.

Year to date(YTD), from January 1st to April 30th 2010, there were 2057 units sold. Average YTD sales price was $167,355, Median sales price was $140,000, total volume was $344,249,343, and the average DOM was 102 days.
 
As of May 10th 2010, there were 7,679 residential single family, condo/townhouses available for sale in the Greater Greenville real estate market. This is +7% more inventory than the 7,179 available units as of May 11th 2009. Average list price for currently available residential homes is $252,506, Median list price is $178,900, total volume is $1,938,992,343, and average DOM for the currently active listings is 144 days.

Greater Greenville SC Real Estate is still highly desirable, as we continue to see people relocating from different parts of the country. Greenville County has a lot to offer, and was recently ranked #5 of top 10 affordable places to weather the economic downturn by Forbes.com based on Affordability, Property taxes, and Job growth. Greenville, the economic center of the Upstate, has a cost of living consistently below the national average, which means that one can live comfortably and enjoy big-city amenities at a reasonable cost.
