Resizing multiple photos

Paint Shop Pro has a batch image processor. It can resize many photos at once, or apply additional filters. It's about $50 to buy onilne if you search google, or you can download the demo for a 30-day evaluation.

If you are running Windows XP, the free Image Resizer power toy from Microsoft is great.

Go to Microsoft.com, and enter Image Resizer in the search box. Then download and install.

To resize, in explorer, select the files first, then right click, and select Resize. There will be a few options, such as target size, or overwrite originals, etc.

The Microsoft Power Toy sounds great! I'll have to try it out.

One of the best overall photo software is Google's Picasa. It has the handy ability to export resized or touched up photos, while allowing you to keep the original.

I was just asked a very good question by MB... what a good program similar to photoshop might be for manipulating photos, but a bit more advanced than Picasa...

There's an open source (Source Forge Project) equivalent to photoshop, called GIMP. It supports many formats, and features brush, paint, path, and gradient tools; Alpha channel support... too many features to list.

GIMP is extensible with the use of plugins and extensions. Pretty solid for being Free! ;-)

I'd like to add an even easier way!

I have a windows based pc and many years ago I noticed that when I select photos and right click on my mouse an entire menu opens up. Select the "Send to" option, opening another menu to allowing you to select "Mail Recipient" afterwards another window pops up asking if you wish to reduce the size of my original photo or leave it the same...

I choose reduce size and voila, within moments I have an email with all my selected photos resized for the web each of them conveniently reduced to way under 100kb perfect for our MLS or websites! Afterwards I can easiliy right click on those images and use the "Save As" renaming them as I save or drag and drop to appropriate file folders or even send them off in an email to myself or a web meister.

It has been a fool proof way to reduce multiple photos at no extra software cost or diddling with more controls. Now that's efficient! }:-)

I solved this problem by purchasing software called Photo Resizer Pro. I think I paid under $30. It might have even been $18. Works great. Also use the cropping tool. Just google it. That's how I found it.
