| This film is riveting. One of those films where I sat stunned at the end of it. It is that powerful. Wonderful performances and a story that deeply impacted me. I have read In Cold Blood and have seen the film. To see this movie about the writing/research of the book and the profound effect it had on Truman Capote . |

I read this book many years ago. I can recall the lives of the killers being described in great detail and it never occurred to me how the author gained that knowledge. P.S. Hoffman was spectacular. I found myself looking at him and believing he was Truman. Some of his actions and facial expressions created a visual that caused me to actually see Capotes face in my mind. The quote at the end of the movie about more tears being shed for answered prayers (the deaths of the killers and his completing the book) than for unanswered prayers was unbelievably powerful. Finally the story behind the story.
