Discover Northern Colorado!

Sep. 17, 2008

Whether you’ve lived here all your life or just moved to the area, there are some things you’ll want to see and do right here in the Front Range area. From outdoor activities to relaxing with a glass of wine and some friends, here are a few ideas to get you started.

For the outdoor enthusiast, there are national, state, and county parks where you can hike, bike, rock climb, swim, boat, horseback ride, camp and more. Look up which parks would suit your adventurous side the best by going to www.nps.gov/state/co for national parks, www.co.larimer.co.us/parks for Larimer County, and www.parks.state.co.us for state parks.

After a day of outdoor fun, relax with a good beer or glass of wine at one of the many local breweries and vineyards. Most offer tours and samples and some also have full menus. You’ll want to call ahead for tour hours and information; but be sure to check out some of these local places: Trail Ridge Winery in Loveland 970-635-0949, www.snowypeakswinery.com in Estes Park-the kids are welcome here & have a designated playroom. Also try www.newbelgium.com, www.odellbrewing.com, and www.budweisertours.com.

Like to golf? The golf courses in Colorado offer some great scenery. And did you know your drive can reach 15%-25% further and your ball flies straighter due to the higher altitude? Find your course at www.golfcolorado.com or www.golflink.com.

Don’t forget about the art, culture, shopping and cuisine in the area. Old Town Fort Collins has great restaurants and shops as well as the occasional concert in Old Town Square. To see the calendar of events for Fort Collins go to www.ci.fort-collins.co.us and click on the events calendar.

This should give you an idea of where to start finding your own fun things to do here in Northern Colorado. I’ve been a longtime resident and Realtor in the area for 13 years. Contact me if you’d like more ideas or need information on the area.
