July 14, 2008 - Protect Shavehead Lake

Hi- I'm a candidate for the 59th District State house seat. We have an important primary election on August 5th. I am a Republican and conservation of Michigan's water, lakes, and streams is one of my top priorities. I've been endorsed by Clean Water Action, the Michigan League of Conservation Voters, and Sierra Club...based on my past work protecting Michigan natural resources.

Michigan LCV named me its 2008 Environmental Leadership Award winner in June. My connection to Shavehead goes back to the 1960's when my dad, an Edwardsburg school teacher, spent summers as a marine deputy. I toured Shavehead with him many times.
