2009 Shavehead LakeHog Roast

The 4th annual Hog Roast, hosted by the folks on the SW corner was enjoyed by many of the lake residents. We enjoyed the popular egg throwing contest. We had both a Jr. contest and an adult contest. We introduced a Hula Hoop contest this year that was a lot of fun.  This year the entertainment was Marty Lowe, a DJ from the Bristol area. He provided a unique form of entertainment as his personality is a combination of Frank Sinatra and Rodney Dangerfield. Everyone seemed to enjoy Marty. The 50/50 produced $172 for the Cass Co. Marine Patrol.

A vote was taken after the event by the 3 couples who sponsor it and it was unanimous, this was our last one. We feel that its time to pass the torch. We are willing to work with anyone who would like to continue it as far as how we plan the set-up, size of hog, etc.

We would like to thank everyone who came to the Hog Roasts, those who helped in various ways, the band Stone Age, and Marty Lowe.

There will be a 50/50 raffle, with the proceeds going to the Cass County Marine patrol. 

Just "BYOB" (bring your own beverage), and "BYOChair"-

(bring your own chair to sit on), and

a Dish to Share.. 

This years "Hog and Corn Roast" will again be hosted at the homes of Russ & Nancy Fish, Sam & Heidi Bailey, and Ken & Ruta Long, - Located at the Southwest Corner of our Lake. Take a right on "Center Street" off of Union Road; At the bottom of the hill, turn right, then keep on going until you get there !!

There will be plenty of room to park your car, or, if you are coming by Boat -we’ll do our best to help you anchor or tie-up!
