July 7, 2009 - Shavehead Lake Flotilla 2009

Hi Folks!
I finally got the photos together from this years Flotilla- sorry for the delay- I had a lot of pics to go thru, resize them, etc.

What a great job by all of this years' Flotilla participants!!
We have had such a great "consistency" in the voting for the "top three" boats this year, that I don't think its necessary to wait to announce this years 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners..The photos of the boats follow, and here's how the voting went:

As for the judges who were on the lake, they voted as follows:
Judge #1: 1st place: #13- The "Shavehead Lake Flamigo Boat"
                   2nd place: #55- "The Swan Boat of Shavehead Lake"
                3rd Place: #1111- "The Chicks of Shavehead Lake"

Judge#2: 1st Place:  #13- The "Shavehead Lake Flamigo Boat"
              2nd Place: #1111- "The Chicks of Shavehead Lake"
               3rd place: #55- "The Swan Boat of Shavehead Lake"

Congratulations to the Bush family for their 1st place finish!  They will receive a $50 gift certificate to Harrington-Mills grocery!  And Congratulations to Liz and her team on the #55 "Swan on Shavehead" boat!  They are receiving a $35 gift certificate to "Stone Gardens"- the nursery on US12.  And to our "Chicks on Shavehead Lake", you will receive a $20 gift certificate to the "Farmhouse Bakery" in Vandalia, which features great food, and great fresh baked goodies!
And for the other three boats, you are definatley not loosers, by any means!  Dawn at the Farmhouse Bakery gives me a lot of coupons for a free cup of coffee and pastry of choice, which you'll receive!  Thanks again, and "great job" to all of you!

 
Our "1st place" boat this year- the Bush Family- WOW!  Loved the "working wings"! Congrats Folks!

Our  "2nd place" boat this year- "The Swan Boat of Shavehead Lake" by Liz and team.  Very, very, nice boat folks!  I'm sure you folks made it a tough decision on which boat to choose for "1st place"!! 
Enjoy the flowers from Stone Gardens! (not a bad "2nd place prize"!)

 
Our "3rd Place" boat- "The Chicks of Shavehead Lake"- the Burkhart family- congrats!  You folks had a VERY fun boat to watch!  dadda dadda dadda da, dadda dadda dadda da, etc..    I know you'll enjoy something from The Farmhouse Bakery!- Enjoy! (And be sure to tell Dawn & Virgil I said "hello") Mike

You've gotta give the award for "the most enthusiastic boat / boats" to Gregg Inlett and his"54"  team! 
I see Gregg and his team winning the "1st place" award sometime,- they always come up with something very good and fun-  its just a matter of "when"..  

Boat #14 wins the award for "the best sounding horn" on the lake!  Look at them "tooters"!

Boat number "33" wins the award for the "prettiest hair" on the lake!!  Nice boat folks, and a very ingenious implementation on the theme!
