HOTEL/SOMA - InterContinental San Francisco
Statistics
Estimated Completion Date: 2008
This is included as an example of the tremendous growth taking place in San Francisco. I expect this to have a positive impact on the surrounding area, and in turn the residential housing in area as well. This is located mid-SOMA.
Towering 32 stories above the heart of the city, the new InterContinental San Francisco is sure to become an immediate success. Located adjacent to the magnificent Moscone Center, the hotel is within a short, scenic stroll of the city's financial, entertainment and premium shopping districts. Adding to the city's beautiful skyline, the cool blue exterior of the hotel will offer guests as many reasons to stay inside as the city does to venture out.
ACCOMMODATIONS
Opening in December 2007, the hotel features 550 luxuriously appointed guestrooms, including 14 suites plus the spectacular two-story Presidential Suite. All rooms feature natural wood, glass and marble with plush bedding and large working areas. In-room amenities include wireless and high-speed Internet access (fee), two-line direct dial telephones with voicemail and data port capabilities, plush terry designer bathrobes, hairdryer, individual thermostat control, iron and ironing board, safe and private bar. Other amenities offered are same-day laundry/valet service, 24-hour fitness center, business center and private dining service.
MEETING FACILITIES
The hotel is destined to be the city's most desirable venue for meeting and events. Twenty-three meeting rooms comprise a total of 43,000 sq. ft. of flexible meeting space and all feature natural lighting. The largest ballroom at 6,800 sq. ft. and the junior ballroom at 5,600 sq. ft. will truly be magnificent. Two outside terraces will complement the diverse setting and a third terrace next to the spa will be the perfect place for outdoor events.
DINING & RECREATION
The hotel will continue the 60-year history of InterContinental Hotels & Resorts' tradition of only the finest in food and service. The all-day, street-level restaurant will feature a bar, show kitchen, fireplace and outdoor terrace seating. For relaxation and tranquility, the I-Spa will house 10 treatment rooms featuring an array of special services and signature experiences. The hotel will also offer a state-of-the-art, full-service fitness center and an indoor pool.
