The Musical Classic, Grease, will be presented August 16th

Aug. 7, 2009
Categorized in: Just for Fun!

JMM Productions had originally planned to show this rockin’n’rollin classic musical on July 19th, but had to reschedule due to rain. Please note that that on Sunday, August 16th, you can bring your blanket or lawn chairs to Neptune Park in the Village of St. Simons Island for a free movie presentation of Grease with Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta. The Park opens at 5 pm and the movie begins at dusk.   The plan for September 6 is the animated movie Ice Age which is a winner for children and adults alike. This one is a favorite of my two grandchildren, Amelia and Lance.

Please call on me if you have any questions or wish information on happenings in the Golden Isles or the current real estate market in Glynn County.

Planning a trip to St. Simons Island? Traffic Pattern is now changed.

Jul. 6, 2009
Categorized in: St. Simons Information

Effective 7/5/09, all traffic coming onto the Island will bear right on Kings Way and continue straight to the Village area. If you wish to go north, you will still come in on Kings Way and then take the first left turn on to Sea Island Road. This project they are calling the Gateway Project will ultimately be a loop among Kings Way, Sea Island and Demere Roads, much like a huge traffic circle.

The two round-abouts which were finished last year—the first at the north end close to the Sea Island Stables and Christ Church and the second one at the intersection of Demere and Frederica Roads, are in my opinion a successful tool to keep traffic moving.

If you have any questions about these changes or any questions about our area, please give me a call. I always welcome the opportunity to talk about my favorite place on earth!

The Annual GA Bulldog vs. FL Gators Football Classic is this weekend!

Oct. 31, 2008
Categorized in: Just for Fun!

This annual rivalry between the University of GA and the University of FL football programs has been going on for enough years to earn the Bulldogs 46 recorded wins and the Gators 37 wins and 2 tied games!  Jacksonville, FL has long been the site for this game at the Municipal Stadium which is also the home of the Jacksonville Jaguars pro football team. While Jacksonville may be a neutral venue, it is located only 73 miles from Gainesville, FL which is the home town for the Gators. Athens, GA, home for the Bulldogs, is 342 miles north. These avid fans have made a science of tailgating in the parking lots and also at the Jacksonville Landing which faces the St. Johns River.

Even Wikipedia attributes the nickname “The Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party” to this highly touted game. I am sure both schools sincerely wish that title was never born as that is not the kind of message any athletic program wants to convey. But, I know there will be a lot of parties and excitement over the game right here on St. Simons Island. Busses and campers and cars emblazoned with “Bulldawg” flags are arriving for lodging here as we are only 45 minutes away from Saturday’s game. Merchants, restaurants and other retailers are hopeful for a significant infusion into our local economy. Whether or not these businesses follow the game, we all welcome the fans which come every year and enjoy the products and services we render.

Game kick-off will be a 3:30 and televised if you are more inclined to watch in your recliner at home.

Beach Party 2008

Just last month we had our 2nd Beachcomber Beach Party at the beach in front of the Coast Guard Station on St. Simons Island.  50+ friends, clients and agents from our office joined us for a late afternoon picnic.

Here I am attempting to keep the skirt of my dress from flying over my head!

This is Russell and Katrina who just closed on their new home last week.

The weather cooperated famously providing a wonderful coastal breeze that kept away bugs who might have wanted to join in and provided more August outdoor pleasure.

The gentleman is our friend Doug Blanton, a local home inspector, and his grandson.

From left, Ed Stoddard, Nancy Lawman and Janice Adams who are agents with our company.

The boy is my grandson, Lance, with one of our clients on left and my daughter in law, Terri, on right.

This fellow is my "Baby" Jason.

My Grandaughter, Amelia, is on the left with her buddy.

Old and new friends along with ocean breezes and sand dunes make for a great evening.

I am so grateful for the clients who have become my friends and enriched my life significantly.  If these beach photographs inspire you to make a visit to the Golden Isles of South GA, please give me a call and look me up.  Any opportunity to share this delightful area is most welcome.

Regards,

Sally
