Do you have plans for the 4th of July yet?

The Golden Isles of GA would be a great destination for fun, fireworks and an old fashioned 4th of July holiday celebration. Fireworks displays are held on Jekyll Island, St. Simons Island and on the mainland in downtown Brunswick. The annual Sunshine Festival is always a winner held in Neptune Park at the Pier/Village on St. Simons and begins on July 3rd with food and entertainment and runs thru Sunday. A annual and much anticipated tradition is the Arts and Craft Festival which features over a 100 local and Southeast artists displaying their wares. Bring your beach chairs or blanket and sit under the stars with friends and enjoy the fabulous firework display off the end of the pier.
Summer is my very favorite season on St. Simons and I feel very fortunate to call this delightful place HOME.

Local St. Simons Island and Sea Island, GA Resorts rate HIGH!

Feb. 7, 2008
Categorized in: General Information
Only 41 hotels and 17 restaurants in the United States met Mobil’s criteria to earn the coveted five-star standard this year and only 125 hotels made the four-star mark. The Lodge at Sea Island located on St. Simons Island and the Georgian Room restaurant at The Cloister both were awarded 5 stars in the 2008 Mobil Travel Guild ranking. In addition The Cloister Hotel and the new Spa at Sea Island were honored with a 4-star rating for this year.

Three other facilities in the Golden Isles earned 3-star ratings: The King and Prince Beach and Golf Resort on St. Simons Island, the Jekyll Island Club Hotel on Jekyll Island and the Lodge on Little St. Simons Island.

The Golden Isles of GA is definitely a premier destination and I personally hope you will look me up at Beachcomber Properties in the heart of the Village on St. Simons Island when you visit.

Holidays in the Southeast

I hope everyone is enjoying this wonderful time of year!  I'm sitting in our real estate office which we share with the buggy rental shop.  A family from Long Island just rented two buggies for two hours... don't they know that it's raining?  This day has amazed me... it's been raining on and off all day, but that hasn't stopped the tourists from coming in steadily to rent  our open air electric cars.  The temperature is mild (mid 60's), and the Village is full.  Most of these people don't have a clue that this is our winter - when we southerners stay at home, and maybe even build a fire!

I love living in an area that others love to visit.  Not only is it good for our economy, but it's equally good for our spirit.  This activity reminds us that we're fortunate to call this "home" year 'round.  It's been a good week for us in real estate, too; 3 contracts, one listing, and I'm scheduled to show property this evening.  While most of America is vacationing, we're in one of our busy time.  I love the holidays, and I especially love what the holidays mean for our area!

I hope everyone has a safe and prosperous 2007.

Happy New Year!
