· 10/6/07 CoastFest
Hosted by the GA Dept. of Natural Resources, COASTFEST takes place @ Conservation Way in Brunswick right under the Lanier
Bridge. From 10 - 4, the event has many educational & interactive components such as tours of a DNR Research Vessel,
hands on visits with sea critters in touch tanks, snakes & other wildlife, historical interpreters & cannon firing
demonstrations, natural trails & marsh walks. Entertaining programs, skits puppets and dancers are a favorite of
children. Admission & Parking are FREE.
· 10/13/07 Brunswick Rockin'
Stewbilee
See my 7/20/07 Post on this event in Downtown Brunswick for great family fun. Brunswick Stew competition, pooch parade,
antique cars, 5K race, arts & antique vendors. Culminates with an evening concert featuring the Neville Brothers!
· 10/12 - 10/14/07 Birding & Nature
Festival
5
th annual festival on Jekyll Island offers a variety of entertainment & educational activities. Seminars
& field trips highlight coastal GA's abundant natural beauty & wildlife. Unique pontoon & kayak trips, beach
excursions & more should give birders an opportunity to enjoy this important regional bird area. Some free programs
& events open to public.

· 10/27/07 GA/FL Football Game in
Jacksonville, FL
See my 8/31/07 post that highlights this annual event. BullDawg fans from all over the nation congregate on St. Simons
Island and the mainland to enjoy the company of other loyal fans of GA's favorite college team. Tour busses depart to the
game on Sat. & even if you don't care to attend the game, the team spirit is contagious. If you've never seen a grown
man drop on all fours & bark like a dog, this is your opportunity. No kidding!

Trail
Golfers who stay @ participating hotels on Jekyll, St. Simons & in Brunswick can play 8 different courses for the same

Season
Brunswick Community Concert Assn. starts off the season with the Harry James Orchestra. Broadway, ballet, chamber music
and more will be covered in the association's season selections. Go to

· 11/24/07 Community Tree Lighting in the
Historic Village, Jekyll Island
The Holiday season is kicked off with festive music, Santa's arrival on a fire truck,
horse drawn hayrides, storytelling, a field of "snow" for children to play in, food & vendors and the lighting of an
enormous Christmas tree. The light display alone is worth a trip to Jekyll.
