We Love our GA Bulldawgs!

This Saturday, August 30th, kicks off the 2008 Football Season with the Dawgs going up against the GA Southern Eagles between the hedges. But the game that is a phenomenal draw to our area and specifically St. Simons Island, is the GA/FLClassic held in Jacksonville, FL. on November 1st. This game is rivalry personified to say the very least. This game has been named one of the top ten football rivalries by ESPN, College Football News, The Sporting News, Fox Sports and America’s Best Online.

Bulldog fans have long enjoyed the commentary of Atlanta’s legendary radio voice, Larry Munson. Larry underwent surgery recently, and the Bulldog Nation is extremely hopeful that he will be the familiar voice announcing for the 43rd Season. Mr. Munson coined the phrase for the GA/FL weekend for St. Simons as “the world’s largest cocktail party” which is certainly indicative of a lot of fans and fun going on for the build-up to this very special game.
We are handling rentals and property management now and are already getting calls from individuals getting their plans set for that timeframe.   Give us a call if you’d like to plan your trip to the Golden Isles of GA.

Go Dawgs !

We have all made foolish choices and done things we are not proud of somewhere along the way.  But, the shame of Michael Vick's decision to participate in dog fighting eludes comprehension.  A young man so gifted an athlete, with a multi-million dollar contract with the Atlanta Falcons to throw it all away is simply & literally a crime.  If you are reading this post & have no acquaintances in the State of Georgia, please know that we are not a barbaric state and don't condone animal brutality in any way, shape or form.  We as Georgians apologize for this terrible affront to common decency.

On the other hand, we are a state that loves the game of football and are still very proud of the Atlanta Falcons, the GA Tech Yellow Jackets and our much beloved Bulldogs (better known as the Dawgs).  The highly anticipated annual confrontation between the GA Bulldogs & the FL Gators is coming up on 10/27/07 at the Jacksonville Stadium.  All true Dawg fans anxiously await the gift of hearing Larry Munson yet another year.  Larry Munson has been the announcer for the Dawgs for over 40 years and definitely has a wonderful vernacular we have come to expect and look forward to.  This will be his last season at the helm & he will only be announcing home games.  Kudos to Mr. Munson for 40+ years of adding pleasure to the game. Whether or not you follow football, Glynn County is a fun place to be that weekend in October.

If you have not previously visited out area, there is no finer time of year than October to come to Southeast GA.  If I can be of assistance or answer any questions on your planning a visit for that weekend or any other, please contact me.
