� Feb. 14, 2008 - Road Scheduled for Temporary Closure
Well, it's official. The first road closure related to the widening of Stacy Road, and the Village at Allen/Village at Fairview construction, is slated for this weekend. Stacy Road, between US 75 (Central) and SH 5 (Greenville), is scheduled to be closed from 10 p.m. on Saturday, Feb 16 through 6 a.m. on Monday, Feb 18. We knew things were going to get messy, but until now, we didn't know when.
According to officials the roadway is being closed to undertake a critical utility crossing for the roadway construction project. Drivers are being advised to seek an alternate route and provisions are said to have been made for any safety, or emergency, response in which this route might be needed.
Ultimately, these developments/projects should be great for area residents... that is, of course, after the dust settles.
