Do most Mac users use a browser other than safari?

Brian Lange, My suggestion is, as soon as possible, purchase a Mac. I started out years ago with an Apple II, and ran my Real Estate business in Ohio over 20 years ago. You will appreciate the ease of use and all of the interactive features available in an Apple product. Then yes, by all means, purchase the iPhone. The way the Mac and the iPhone communicate with each other is fantastic. If you also purchase iLife, iworks, and Bento, you will be a one man band. You will be so much more efficient and capable of Marketing your product that all of those PC users. Check out my web-sites. I designed everything on the Mac.
I mostly use Firefox, too since it allows me to block ads. Safari often is faster loading.
I like both Safari and Firefox, but isn't Safari supposed to be the driving force behind what makes a Mac safer from virus intrusions, etc? Doesn't it defeat the purpose of getting a Mac for the internet safety if we don't use Safari? I always wonder that when I have to use Firefox.

Btw, I'm in the Central Valley area of CA and IE is the ONLY option for us to access our MLS. :-(
I used to love Firefox but am so enthralled with the speed of Safari that I use it more and more. My MLS here on the NC Outer Banks is only IE compatible too, so no experience there with Safari.
And safety is another good reason to go on a Safari. :-}
Thanks for the lively disucssions. I do love my Macs ever since my first Mac II.

I am able to use Citrix in San Francisco. Here is the screen capture of all the MLS's that Citrix works with. Hopefully this proves helpful to some Mac users who want to stay away from the "dark side!"
Hi Eric,
I use the SF MLS often so how do you install Citrix and which program is it on their site? I'm looking at it and I see an online plug-in offered. Is this what you need? I'd love to be able to get right into the SF MLS without having to go through the rigamaroll of using VM and XP just to access this one MLS. At least MLSListings supports Macs. Boo on San Francisco.

Lenore,
and for any other(s) interested in using the Citrix solution for Mac computers:
Go to http://www.rapattoni.com/citrix and click on About this Site for details and complete instructions.
I prefer Safari as it is about twice as fast as Firefox, even Firefox 3.5.2 which is supposed to have been made much faster. But as I work throughout the day, I'll look at my dock and see that both Safari and Firefox are running, so I do use both throughout the day.
Because of some Safari incompatibilities with a few online programs, I changed my default browser to Firefox. I don't like it as well but at least when I click a link in an email, the web site always opens.
I get sooo angry when some sites state "works best on Internet Exploiter"! They obviously have tunnel vision. They obviously don't realize that most of Microsoft's development team uses Macs. They obviously don't realize that all (or I should probably say nearly all) of the important programs are developed on Macs and adapted to Windows... Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Photoshop, InDesign, FileMaker, Acrobat, etc. If it works best for Microsoft to design on the Mac and adapt to Windows, why doesn't everyone do it that way....
Sorry... I do get frustrated. The biggest problem we Mac users have, other than tunnel vision developers, is being at the leading edge of the curve. Things that we can do now, Windows users will be doing in a few years. But by that time, Macs will be doing newer things... if you know what I mean.
Back to Safari vs. Firefox. I suggest running both. Safari is faster and seems a bit more friendly, but Firefox has been adopted better as a cross-platform browser.
There is also Safari for Windows but it's adoption by Windows users is just about nil! "Run an Apple program on my Dell.... it can't work!". That's Microsoft's superlative marketing at work.

Thanks for the rant, RaytheRealtor!! My frustrations exactly!! Nice to have a soul mate on these compatibility issues!! And the real joke is that IE is so lame. My MLS only runs on IE 7. That's it. Now there is tunnel vision!!
Love my mac!
