I haven't got the new version of IWORKS and needed a template for a promotional piece that I want to create. I could not find it. However, I did a google search for templates for Pages and found a number of sites. Take a look as they do have some that are real estate specific.

Ronald, thanks for writing this post. I just converted to the Mac and have been tring to put together a Newsletter in Word. It was not going well at all. I just looked up iWorks and found a great site for a step by step process for creating a newsletter. It looks great! I just googled iWorks+newletter and up it came.

I didn't know about iWorks but will be out this week to get a copy and an iWorks for Dummies book if there is one.

Have you used this iWorks for sending information in Word? If so how does it work? I am really wanting to send out a local monthly newsletter and the putting it together has been more of a headache thatn the content. How does it read for PC users?

Anxious to hear..

I do all my property brochures on Pages and love it. Besides, once you know how to do it, other Mac programs like iWeb and iMovie are so much easier to catch on to. I learned how to do Pages through the One-to-One program at the Apple store.

The iWorks program like most Mac programs are great have easy to use templates and very reasonable. They latest version allows you to save or hare documents to their Microsoft counter parts, In pages you are given the option under File menu to "save as" and then you check, a word document. One other option is share menu you can email a pages document to others as a Pages doc, Word doc or a PDF. The latest version also lets you share on the Internet if you ever want to collaborate with others.

If you have an Apple store near by the cheapest education you can buy are their "one to one" classes with some pretty smart kids one hour as often as you can schedule for a year.

Hope that helps!

I just checked on the internet and found the following link that is a tutorial for doing a newsletter using Pages http://www.educationworld.com/a_tech/techtorial/techtorial076.shtml

Also, the suggestion using the One-on-One for help is an excellent suggestion.

One of the best tips the Apple classes gave me was to open the tutorial and the program I was trying to learn. Pause the tutorial and complete the exercise it just demonstrated. It shortens the learning curve.

You will be amazed at how intuitive the program is. I used to create my newsletters in Publisher and it took forever. Now I can create a flyer in 3 minutes (since I saved my template)

Hello Jerri McCombs, Congratulations for switching over to the Mac. I think it is a wise move and one you will appreciate more and more as you get use to the Mac's ease of use. Do buy IWorks. You will never use MS Word again. You will find that with Mac's templates and self help tutorials you will be creating newsletters and flyer's with ease and the skill of the on-line companies trying to sell you their flyers. I suggest you become familiar with IPhoto, stock it with pictures of the product you are selling. You will find that you can drag and drop, or copy and paste your pictures into your flyer's so quickly. I also suggest you purchase ILife. With that you can make your own videos and create your own Web-Site. I created a 70 page web-site for my Real Estate business using IWeb and have now published my Web-Site for my financial planning business. Good luck and keep practicing. Robert L Newman.

Thanks for all of the help. I know I am going to love the mac. I had always used one until I entered Real Estate 3 years ago and nothing seemed to work on it. I have really struggled. I have had my mac book for about a month now and am so impressed with how much it has evolved. I love all of the new stuff and it works better than I remember.

I am so excited about getting iWorks. I have been strugglig with a newsletter template for what seems like months on the PC (I actually think it was months!) After reading this thread and looking online, I am stopping in at the Apple Store tomorrow and getting a copy of iWorks. I can't wait to get it up and running.

Thanks to all that gave me this info! I love REALTOWN!!

Jerry glad you are feeling better about the Mac.

My partner and I both use Mac Book Pros that wirelessly backup to a Time Capsule and we try not to have to go to the "dark side" as my partner calls Windows and Microsoft products unless forced to. We were able to create a new Website and Blog this year with iWeb as well. Take a look, we actually created our own pages blank pages without using a template for the Website and then we used an iWeb template for the blog. http://www,sfhome4you.com and http://www.sfrealestatescoop.com

After building the sites we found a good resource for information on iWeb called http://allaboutiweb.com

Wish you well and enjoy!
