Mac Group

<p> I&#39;ve been using Entourage for a while and what really bugs me is the time stamp on mail received. It always shows the time I opened up the program and not the time it was received by the server. Does anyone know if there is a way to change this, and if so, how to do it? I can&#39;t seem to find this issue anywhere. I guess I was spoiled by years of Outlook use and since the Apple Mail program doesn&#39;t do this, by that also. </p>

<p> Hello everyone, </p> <p> As a techie Realtor and the chair of my office tech comm., board IT comm, and director on Regional MLS comm, I like to keep abreast of what tools work for us and what does not. That said, I own both VMFusion Ware and Parallels (latest version of both) and I really want to engage with those of you who do as well. I still love GUI of Parallels but have more trouble with it that it appears to be worth. Fusion is more stable but does not have the intuitive GUI that know to get out of the way of open mac program windows for instance. I only open Parallels to keep windows updated and occasionally test it again but honeslty want to remove it today. Also discovered something nasty along the way and that is that Parallels Tools seems to place identifiers all over my mac and so if I choose to open an .exe file while Fusion is running then Parallels will attempt to open and the entire Mac crashes. All too often in fact. </p> <p> One other issue is that I have, since installing both emulators, run into the &quot;please hold down your start button and restart&quot; message all too often and have run all disk repairs that can be identified. This does concern me a bit and I did read that it probably stems from having both installed. </p> <p> So this is kind of like my last hurrah with Parallels. I am about to back it up entirely - both to my Time Capsule as a file not a time maching back up. then cut all the original installs and updates to a dvd and place this sucker in storage. I operate on a Mac Book Pro 2.33 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo with 3 GB Ram. I also own a iMac G5 and am planning for that to be upgraded this year after the next big release of iMac&#39;s with plans to install Parallels on that machine by itself. This way I can continue to test both systems but not at the possible expense of ruining my workhorse Mac Book Pro. </p> <p> Any thoughts out there. I have read most of the forums and honeslty they seem to run about as fast as one another and I am not doing any scientific tests via Photoshop or items like that. <p> For those of you who are interested in the Apple Pro Care plan, I just saw that Amazon has a deal on it. I believe that the price is $267. </p>

<p> It is rather ironic that I am now able to use the same sign in for Real Town as I do for my Point2 website. The problem is that Point2 doesn&#39;t function on Safari. I am fortunate that I have a MacBookPro and can use Point2 on the PC side of my computer. But that doesn&#39;t make my life easier. </p> <p> </p> <p> Ron Gorman </p>

<p> My friend who is a graphic designer said that the decision to buy a Mac Book Pro over a regular Mac Book came down to the backlit keyboard that is only available on the Pro. Is this true? </p>

<p> Several years ago (before I got a MacBookPro), I tried using Citrix on my Mac. It ran very slowly and I had a very hard time printing reports, etc. I was not happy with my Mac until I got a MacBookPro. With VM, I had my problems resolved. However, the windows side now is taking up almost 40% of my HD space. </p> <p> This morning I went to the Genius Bar at the Apple Store asking for help. The tech was very familiar with real estate issues and suggested that I try Citrix. He then downloaded it to the Mac side. I was shocked to see how improved the program is as it went to the MLS and printed reports. </p> <p> Does anybody else have experience with Citrix. <p> I&#39;m looking for an online fax system to replace my incoming hard copy fax machine. Any recomendations? </p> <p> 1. It needs to be Mac compliant </p> <p> 2. <p> Obviously, if you own an iPhone you&#39;re beyond impressed with its capabilities. This discussion thread is dedicated to sharing creative ideas on how to get the most out your iPhone to grow your Real Estate business. In my experience, utilizing the mac to arm your iPhone with impressive displays may lead to more than just an excuse to show off your shiny apple product--it may lead to new clients. </p> <p> I keep a digital camera in my car to take my own photos of properties I preview (MLS photos are often horrible). Using iPhoto I create several property folders (either by price range or property type) where I add a few of my selective photos from each property to be &#39;synched&#39; to my iPhone. When I&#39;m showing houses to buyers who have a select list of houses they want to see, It&#39;s convenient (and impressive) to show them other homes that fit their criteria as I slide my finger from each amazing photo to the next . It&#39;s a conversation starter to say the least, and a great way to commit a potential client who was originally just window shopping--they see you&#39;re the most up-to-date Realtor and want that continued service. </p> <p> -Any great iPhone Apps out there? I recommend &#39;Puluwai&#39; if you don&#39;t have any real estate apps, but it&#39;s far from great--not sure if it works in all areas. It uses your GPS location and (claims) to list nearby properties for sale. </p> <p> -MLS browsers/search windows? I&#39;ve had limited and inconsistent success in accessing MLS services.
