Interview a minimum of 3 brokers. In a short sentence this is one of the first things you have to do to find the right home for you and your license. Next, ask to speak with one of their top agents (licensees) and ask that person what they like about the firm and the broker; do they get reasonable training, do they get adequate support, how long have they worked at this firm. Finally ask your friends who they believe has the best reputation and the best group of licensees. When you first go to work in this profession, the reputation of the firm is your reputation, until you have been in the business long enough to form your own reputation you must rely on the broker with whom you place your license.

Why would you go through the time and trouble to exchange one title for another? Why would you want to take more education and study and take another test! It takes so much time! Because the public understands and respects someone who cares enough about their profession to take the additional education and go through the requirements (along with their time in the saddle!) to get their upgraded license. The time and energy that you must put into getting an upgraded license is worth the additional respect and referrals you will receive from your current and future customers and clients.
