Understanding Local Real Estate Markets

Written by
May 14th, 2008 6:55 pm
Our real estate industry consists of many small markets on a local level. Due to the recent boom we experienced across the nation, many people have started to believe that all these market are a single entity. This couldn’t be further from the truth. Individual market places, although are effected by national and global factors, are in them selves separate markets. All of which are effected more so by local events then by things on a larger scale. That fact that some markets are experiencing a slow d

Phoenix Real Estate Blog: Are we there yet?

Written by
May 14th, 2008 9:51 pm
It’s the scourge of the family car vacation: the nasally voice coming from the back seat, waaaaaaaayyyy too often, asking “Are we there yet?” And you’ve only rounded the corner out of your neighborhood. It’s going to be a long drive. . . I feel like that now, only it’s all of us in the back seat chiming in with the collective “Are we there yet?” Has the real estate market hit bottom? I’ve posted on this topic so many times I have to debate whether to post on it yet again. But whet

A Rose By Any Other Name

Written by
May 15th, 2008 9:19 am
Sometimes I tend to forget that all real estate is local and that the same thing has different names in different locals.  Also, the same thing might be referred to by different names in different circles.  Therefore when I posed the question "What exactly is a Community Association?" I seem to have caused some confusion.  Let me try to straighten that out. The term Community Association is probably the most common moniker.  It is the term I use.  It is also the term used by The Communit...

RE: Contracts - Answer to Question 2

Written by
May 15th, 2008 6:10 am
I think Saul has a great point that I would like to take one step further. Not only would I expect my Realtor to put my house on Zillow, Trulia, Realtor.com, syndicate it through Point2NLS, his very own site, the company site and MLS site, I would also expect the him to post it on his blog, do e-marketing to all active agents in the area, build a hub on Hubpages, build a lens on Squidoo and include community information in that lens. In addition to all this I would expect the agent to email a we...

Fidelity Assets

May 14th, 2008 8:50 am
If you've used Fidelity Assets for pay per click, could you tell me a little about your results and experience with them? Fidelity Assets is the ONLY lead generation company that has worked for us consistently.  I have no idea how, but they are successful at capturing a lead and getting them to our web site.  They send a good tool kit of our profile to the prospect immediately which makes for a better initial contact from us.  We are a husband/wife team with my husband being our rainmaker an...

Real Estate Questions

Written by
May 9th, 2008 3:00 pm
John Reilly and I both taught real estate principle classes for many years. During those years it was not uncommon for new students and new agents to complain about the fact that all they learned how to do was “pass the test.” John and I always argued that the information we taught in our classes did indeed prepare students to pass the license exam, but in addition we argued, that the information we taught and the way we taught, helped prepare students to become better real estate profession...

RE: Skype

May 9th, 2008 7:40 am
“Does anyone use skype for a telephone service provider ?” I lived overseas for over 4 years and lived by Skype to keep in touch with people at home. They also have some wicked deals on for North American packages now. I have also been using the forwarding feature to have calls forwarded to my cel phone. Because I have unlimited incoming minutes, people from anywhere call me for free. For both of us. Love the Skype. Shane
