The Real Estate market here in Sioux City Iowa.

May. 13, 2008

A couple of days ago I got an e-mail from an agent friend from Reno Nevada.  It was her "Market News" for the Reno area.  Here in Sioux City we are surviving the housing crisis.  We've had some foreclosure's, a down swing in sales and home prices.  This does not come close to what other areas have been going through.  I have family in Reno and I know it has been a tough time for Sellers.  Most of the Reno area was suffering, only North Reno seemed to be holding it's own during this tough market.  Here in Sioux City our inventory of homes is stale.  Buyers just do not have much to choose from.  New homes on the market are slim.  Some sellers are opting to go the route of FSBO thinking this will save them money since they believe they will suffer in their home price due to the market.  I know the market will pick up but for me it's not happening soon enough.  Being a single parent I now have to look for full time work to pay the bills.  I have been working part time in the mornings to help make ends meet.  Top it off with the high cost of fuel and groceries times have become tough.

I will hang in there to try and squeeze as much time as possible in keeping my Real Estate career going.  To everyone that is in the same predicament!  Hang in there and good luck.
