Westport CT Happenings

Dec. 1, 2006 - Rink at Longshore

Westport on Ice

Last week, the ice skating rink at Longshore Club Park, opened for the season.  Each fall, as the outdoor tennis season winds down, the front courts are converted to an ice skating rink.  The rink is owned and run by the Westport Police Athletic League (PAL), and serves as a major fundraiser for their programs.  Skate rentals are available and refreshments and meals can be enjoyed in the heated eating area of the Longshore Pavilion.  Joey's by the Shore runs the food concession, offering snacks to full meals.  This year, they have also added a brick oven pizza.

General admission is $9 per session for adults or $7 with a handpass.  Children, to age 17 pay $6.25 or $5 w/handpass.  Group rates, private parties, seasonal passes and lessons are also available.  For more information, call 203-226-RINK or go to http://www.wpalrink.com
