A look at 2007 Real Estate Predictions

As the year comes to a close, I thought it might be interesting to revisit some real estate predictions made for this past year.

About.com gave Top 10 Predictions:

(10) Buyers Will Be More Selective When Choosing an Agent

(9) More than 50% of Listings Will Feature a Price Reduction Within 30 days

(8) Virtual Tours Will Gain Popularity

(7) Agents Will Take Overpriced Listings

(6) Sellers Will Hire Home Stagers

(5) Buyers Will Demand Upscale Features

(4) Buyers Will Pass By Overpriced Homes

(3) Agents Will Negotiate Record Numbers of Counter Offers

(2) Home Prices Will Remain Soft

(1) More Single Women Will Buy Homes Than Ever Before

Comments: Well, our overall local real estate values clearly did not see gains of 1 -3 percent!

Sacramento, CA based Real Estate Agent, Elizabeth Wientraub did a fairly good job with her predictions as they apply to us here in Somerset. Here's her real estate predictions for 2008.

I certainly have no crystal ball for the future, but I do foresee more of the same in 2008 with the following exceptions - mortgage rates will remain historically low; wise first-time buyers will step off the fence, becoming homeowners and investors will re-enter the local marketplace before year's end...Only time will tell.

Here are a few personal predictions:

I will be in this business for the long haul.

I will increase the use of technolgy into my business.

Hardest of all....I will lose 10 lbs. and keep it off.

I predict that Buyers will finally get off the fence and buy this year! We will enjoy a good market in 2008! I don't believe with interest rates where they are and the inventory so high, that we will have to wait much longer for buyers to see what deals are out there!
