Vista and HP Printers don't work together

Just in case somebody was at the end of the life cycle of your computers and printers, like I was about 1 month ago, I wanted to share my experience so nobody else will have to go through with this. I replaced my computer with a new one recently, and obviously, most computers come loaded with Vista nowaways. I didn't know what I was getting into. An HP Officejet printer I had purchased 6 months ago could not be installed into the Vista computer. I called the company, and they said that the CD I have is not made for Vista, so they sent it to me. a few days later, I installed the CD, but came up with error message, and it never finished installing. Long story short, I don't know how many times I called HP support to complain about the same problem. Eventually, they've suggested to return the computer. So, I bought a new HP laptop this time, and same thing happened, so I decided to get a new printer. Of course another HP printer. Same problem. So, after having 3 different tech support get into my computer 6 hours at a time for 3 consecutive days, all of this time requiring for me to sit in front of the computer watching what they are doing, and assisting them when they needed to reboot, the last one finally, said, he cannot fix it. The compute is damaged. Best Buy has a 14 day return policy. By this time, I could not return the computer. But, in the mean time, I went through 3 new printers, and 3 new computers, making sure that I return them within the return period, and all of them experiencing the same problem. Finally, a manager at Bust Buy said that they've been fighting with HP about this problem for 6 months now. What I suggest to do is to return the printer, and get a printer that's not HP. I thought I was going crazy, but he confirmed that it is the problem with HP printer's drivers that are causing this problem. I guess eventually, they will take care of this problem, but for now, if you know this problem exists, you can avoid it to save your sanity. I would like to hear how many of you experienced the same thing, or there might be other Vista related horror stories. For one thing, my new computer is not faster than XP for having more (3GB) RAM.
