Sheridan Long, CDPE

Personal Biography

Sheridan lives with her husband Russ and their pets across the street from Smythe Park on Daniel Island Drive. Their built their first home on Daniel Island in 2000 on Beresford Creek, “we kept our kayaks on our dock and a sunrise or sunset paddle through the marsh and creeks was a living dream come true for me and a form of meditation which serves as a constant reminder of why I am so grateful to be living here on Daniel Island.”

Sheridan grew up in New England spending summers on an Island along the coast of Maine and winters in Princeton, New Jersey and then Boston, Mass. She has enjoyed a 27 year career as an executive in sales and marketing in several Fortune 500 companies as well as a few start-ups before finding her home and starting her real estate career on Daniel Island. “I have never had more fun and job satisfaction than I do now helping other people make their dreams come true when they too find their home on Daniel Island. “ Having moved a number of time myself (from New England to California with a stop in Denver) I find it a natural to relate to people from all over the country who share a common goal of finding a home in Charleston’s beautiful lowcountry.” It’s about understanding and sometime helping with the redesigning of careers, the bitter sweetness of leaving friends behind and creating new ones, finding schools that meet and often exceed expectations, introducing new residents to the Carolina Lowcountry to oyster roasts, shagging on the beach and eating dinner together on our back porch in February!

Her husband Russ, originally from Charleston and a graduate of The Citadel, and the Medical College of Virginia is a business consultant and works with companies and executive in developing their leadership skills and programs. . When asked about favorite hobbies and what she does for fun Sheridan answers “make new friends on Daniel Island”! In addition she occasionally leaves the island for an opportunity to ski out west or to travel to her favorite small island in the out islands of the Bahamas with a “bag full of books.

She is a graduate of the University of Maine, and has earned numerous professional credentials in marketing and leadership development work; she has been a national speaker for the American Hospital Association and has served on numerous boards during her career around the country. Currently in Charleston she is active with the American Heart Association and a member of the Charleston Trident Association of Realtors.
