Rich Cotton

You might say Rich Cotton has been in the Real Estate business his whole life. As a child Rich helped his father with their family real estate brokerage in his home town of Media PA. Rich initially took a different path in the Naval Submarine Service. After leaving the Navy Rich found himself called back to the waters edge so moved to a place he remembered as a child, the beautiful Eastern Shore of Maryland. Here he found the peaceful and slow paced life he sought for his family. In 1989 Rich again was called back to his roots and he began what has proved to be a rich and rewarding career as a Real Estate professional. Like his dad Rich soon realized he wanted to own his own company and Richs’ love of boating and of the Chesapeake Bay naturally drew him to specialize solely in the Waterfront and Water Oriented market. So in 1996 he and his partner Susan Lasater open a boutique real estate company called Waterfront Properties, LLC located on the Sassafras River. Waterfront Properties focused solely on the sale of Waterfront and Water Oriented property. In 2003 once he had his "feet wet" you might say as a broker owner Rich discovered EXiT Realty and was truly blown away by the visionary thinking of this remarkable organization.

So in 2004 Rich and his wife Patricia bought the first EXiT franchise and opened the first EXiT Realty office in the state of MD. A gusty move, yes some said it was down right crazy, "EXiT Realty what kind of a name is that" was said more than once. Now with over fifty EXiT franchises opened throughout the state of Maryland in only 4 years Rich knows it wasn't just a gusty move it was a very smart move.
