Thomas W. Brown

Born on Thanksgiving Day at Swedish Hospital on first hill, I am a true blue (or 'cloudy gray' if you prefer) Seattleite.  In fact, I lived in the same house in Renton until I was 18 but  the cannot be said since graduating high school.  Looking back, I can now check off the fact that I’ve lived in parts of Arizona, Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, Washington and Italy (I cannot wait until Zestimates for Tuscan farm homes make their debut!).

During my wanderings I collected a BA from Seattle University, a MBA from Babson College, co-founded a start-up—it definitely wasn’t as sexy as Zillow, but it was fun nonetheless—and worked in such fields as: residential and commercial mortgages, financial planning, 1031 tax-deferred real estate exchanges, and cost segregation analysis consulting for commercial real estate clients.

In 2004 I finally returned home to Seattle to, among other things, vie for the title of ‘World’s Greatest Uncle’ to my niece (see picture).  It has worked out stupendously!
