Travis Olson

Like most agents, I wound up in Real Estate not by plan, but out of good connections, a desire to help others and some good old fashion luck. I went to several different colleges and changed majors many times. In my course work I took classes in everything from Computer Animation to Physical Education. I graduated from the Mankato State University with a degree in Physical Education and a minor in Corporate Community Health and Fitness. The variety of skills I learned planted the seeds for my future career, but that was not clear at the time. After graduation I was left asking "Now What?"

I began my sales career at Lifetime Fitness as a personal trainer. I loved helping others see the power within themselves and helping them attain their goals. I learned about sales, business profit and loss, commissions, being your own boss and the challanges and successes of working with people during that process. One element that was missing in this year was SYSTEMS, it's why I'm not working as a personal trainer anymore working 10-12 hours a day (sound familiar).

After personal training for a year, I was hired on as the Office Manager of a Real Estate Team. This is when my "formal" business education began. I began reading books, attending seminars and listening to tapes about how to successfully run a business. I was fortunate to be surrounded by wonderful mentors and a boss with a heart of a teacher.

A light bulb went off when I read a book called "The E-Myth" by Michael Gerber. I learned more about small business in this one book than I ever could in a classroom. Systems are what drives a business to not only become successful but to also become predictable. Without systems you do not have a business, you have a J-O-B!

My goal is to share with Real Estate agents across the country the tools I have developed to further their business and create a quality of life.
