I have opened a boutique company in Studio City California . I worked for a larger company and while they offered exceptional training,ie.. classes, role modeling etc.., I had trouble with the constraints of the corporate aspect of the company. I believe that in a tough market with Realtors surrounding us  who are very competitive, a company must be more flexible with their agents needs.  I also see the business is changing as a whole whereas buyers and sellers are more interested in who their agent is and what they will do for them as opposed to the large company. It is a very personal decision to buy or sell and that confidence lies within the relationship of Realtor to client. In other words, the client will put their trust in the agent personally, not the company. I see that the way clients go about searching for their home has changed and  that most wish to be more involved with the search, ie. the Internet. The vast amount of information which used to be privy only to the agents makes the clients better educated and I believe gives them a feeling of control . The agent is there to facilitate the transaction and to assist  the client in the decision making process. I enjoy the fact that a client can be and more importantly feel informed about the market via outside sources so that  it becomes a partnership in the buying or selling of their home. Knowledge is power and my clients need to be very involved and tend to be tech savvy. as well.
