About Me

MEET GENIE LANCASTER- YOUR MAGIC GENIE

I have had a varied career.  I started out as a native of Wilmington, NC, and in 1967 my husband was commissioned in the US Air Force and we started moving around a bit. I have been a contracts specialist for Hewlett-Packard Company in Rockville, MD from 1976-1990, when my husband was stationed in Washington, DC in the US Air Force, a teacher's assistant for 2 years during our stay at Elmendorf AFB, Alaska, and finally, I have been a real estate professional since 1992, working first with a small independent company, then 2 years with Coldwell Banker Hanover Realty and then 13 years as a broker/associate with Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Realty, all located in Wilmington, NC and Carolina Beach, NC.

I decided to come home and work independently with my husband in Lancaster Realty since March 1, 2008.  I have missed the Coldwell Banker franchise I was with, but my husband won out.  He is broker-in-charge, and does all of the techy and financial work, and I list and sell real estate.

My professional  designations are: Accredited Buyer's Rep-ABR, CRS-Certified Residential Specialist, Graduate of the Real Estate Institute-GRI, and CSP-Certified Sales Professional from the National Association of Home Builders.  I also have listed and sold commercial properties. I have worked with builders, new home sales, resales, short sales, land, and just about anything that has to do with real estate.  I feel confident that I could handle about any type of referral that anyone would send to me.  I listen to what the client wants, and then I build on that.  I don't believe in either overpricing property, underpricing property, or doing anything but my best for my client(s).

I try to stay abreast of all new technology, which is why I am taking e-Pro.

I earned my BS in Business Management from the University of Maryland at College  Park in Maryland when we were in the DC area.

I do volunteer work with the American Cancer Society, Meals on Wheels, and write a real estate page for a local beach newspaper in Kure Beach, our sister beach here on Pleasure Island in North Carolina. In my spare time, I play with my five grandchildren, who range from 14 years old down to 5 years old.
