Ellen Toay

 1979 - 1983 Licensed real estate sales agent in Maryland where I achieved the GRI designation and was a member of the Anne Arundel County Distinguised Sales Club. 

1983-1988 opened several offices for attorneys where I personally handled over 2000 residential closings.  In 1988 went to Chicago Title Insurance Company where I managed their direct operations office in Baltimore for a year - then opened a branch office in Annapolis.  In 1990, I became an agency auditor and rep where I audited the accounts and internal operations of over 100 agents for the company.

1992 - moved to the Charlotte, NC area where I worked as a financial planner for over two years for Waddell and Reed.  In 1995 became a mortgage loan originator and worked in that business until 1998 when I decided I wanted to teach.  Had to return to school in order to once again get licensed but was allowed to immediately become a real estate broker in both North and South Carolina (my state of residence).  Became certified to teach in both states by the end of 1998.

Moved to the Myrtle Beach, SC area in 2001. Since then I have acquired my ABR (am also certified to teach the class), CSP and CRB designations.  Have worked in both new home and general brokerage sales, worked as a broker-in charge for a branch office of a large franchise and am a SC state certified real estate instructor - have taught at 2 different real estate schools in the area.  Serve on the board of directors for both the state and local Associations.  Created a "Master Your Craft" education series for the local board that is now become an intergral part of the Association's Education Program.
