Professional Biography

Carmen Lostetter Multhauf has been a California licensed real estate broker since the 1970's. She owned a brokerage in Escondido and also served as Regional Director for a real estate franchise. She is currently an independent broker and consultant, even while focusing on the professional development programs described below.

Carmen has been active in organized real estate serving as President of the local Association after several years on numerous committees as Chairperson. She was honored to earn the Realtor® of the Year award. Carmen also served on the NAR Buyer Broker Task Force and on CAR committees including chairmanships of Standard Forms and Legal Affairs Forum.

In 1982 she founded Training and Broker Services which specializes in writing the Real Estate Guide Series. The Series offers Home Study courses with online exams for License Renewal and for other Continuing Education courses.

Training and Broker Services is the provider of Home Study License Renewal programs for the California Association of Realtors®.

Carmen was the founding author of the Seniors Real Estate Specialist (SRES) designation that is now owned by NAR. She has recently written the "sequel" which is the Generational Housing Specialist (GHS) designation, expanding on client relationships from just working with seniors to understanding other generational cohorts in the real estate market today. This new program not only explores generational characteristics but also how those differing personalities affect the financial markets, housing designs, retirement plans and many other facets that a real estate professional should know.

Her companies, TABS and the Generational Housing Council, are committed to taking the real estate licensee from the minimum licensing requirements to the peak of professionalism. Carmen's degree from U.C.L.A. in International Relations set the stage for understanding the importance of building relationships and for striving to perform beyond the basics.
