Professional Biography

I entered the Real Estate professional on February 1, 2008 after 25 years as a political communication specialist for candidates, government officials, non-profits and corporations. I worked to create messages that would compeI action from the public. I spent most of my time on the road, away from home, and knew it was time to come home to Oshkosh. My experience and success will translate well to my new professional as an Advocate for my clients. When I was home I was always out championing my neighborhood before the Common Council and other government agencies. As a downtown neighborhood we felt we were always being overlooked, dismissed and often insulted in the manner we were treated. We are an older neighborhood with beautiful historic homes and great smaller working family homes from generations gone back. As a lumber mill town, our homes are incredibly beautiful inside with untouched, natural woodwork. The floors, banisters, windows, moldings were created with craftmanship unparalleled in todays homes. The East-Side and University neighborhoods of Oshkosh are neighborhoods in the old fashioned sense. We know each other, have block parties every year, help with snow blowing and maintenance, drop over with lemonade and gossip over the back fence. A friend once called this the true Norman Rockwell experience. We have it all. We are also a University town. My husband, Mike, is Chair of the Physics and Astronomy Department. The university creates a community of culture and activities. There are always concerts, plays, and lectures all within walking distance of our neighborhoods. Oshkosh is also home to the Experimental Aircraft Association and their big fly-in every July. Plus we have Country U.S.A., a huge three day festival, Duck Un-limited and our own neighborhood Fourth of July, Sawdust Days. We are located between two great boating fishing lakes with a river connecting the two bisecting our downtown. Our town motto is "Oshkosh on the Water," and that is true no matter what season. If you want the idyllic midwestern, small city experience come to my town and become my neighbor in the East-Side and University neighborhoods.
