Together Mike and Vicki McVey formed The McVey Group in February 2009. The McVey Group is comprised of top notch professionals, such as attorneys, loan officers, inspectors, builders, and the area’s top selling real estate agents that can assist you with selling your home or with buying a new home.


 

Over the last two years The McVey Group has methodically implemented their business plan to work for the public assisting in buying and selling real estate. Their direct intent and diligence in these efforts have provided them with 25 closed transactions in the last two years. This accomplishment was in a down market, as new agents, as well as being new residents to the area. Everyday they strive to reach their primary goal which is customer satisfaction.


Mike and Vicki have been involved in the real estate industry for over 15 years in South Carolina investing in numerous residential and commercial ventures prior to being licensed REALTORS. During their rising success in the Columbia Real Estate Market they owned a custom home and commercial building company, McVey Custom Homes, which was established by Mike and Vicki in 1996. Upon successful completion of a 6,000 sf custom home in Colleton River, Bluffton, SC in February, 2011 the McVey’s will no longer be operating in that area so they can focus their efforts solely on The McVey Group.


The experiences they had with the construction of custom built homes ranging from $300k to over $1 million, as well as commercial construction projects ranging from $200k to over $2 million have provided them with a keen eye for quality construction, and a talent for keeping detailed transactions in budget and closing on time.


While operating their building company the McVey’s worked with many clients that reside out of state and even out of the country. Their diligence in maintaining constant detailed communication kept their clients informed and worry free during the construction process. The experiences while founding, operating, and overseeing this company as owners gave Mike and Vicki a complete understanding of successful business models.

Our Exit Office

We chose Exit Real Estate Consultants as the office to affiliate with after interviewing with multiple offices in the area. Although very new at the time this office offered an enthusiasm and atmosphere for sharing success that we did not find elsewhere. The choice has never been doubted and the company has grown from 4 agents at that time to over 40 agents in two years.


 

The major standout of this office was the owner Craig Summerall. He has vision and leadership qualities that are found in few people. His understanding of the internet was well beyond any others in the area. Everyone knew the internet was important but Craig knew how to harness its power and use it to help our clients. This information is shared with every agent in our office and embraced by all.


 

Exit Real Estate Consultants was placed 5th in closed transactions in 2010 with the fourth placed office having 3 times the amount of agents. Some of the other top five offices have over 600 agents. The same way Vicki and I built our building company, Craig is building his office, with the highest quality and dedicated full time agents available. In 2011 the Lexington office merged with the Chapin office and will soon have other strategic locations throughout the midlands. In a market where others are pulling back we are growing rapidly. We must be doing something right!


 

On a Personal Note


We have two children, Erika and Michael, as well as a Boston Terrier named Sam. Erika is 16 and Michael is 14 this year. They are both great kids and a lot of fun to be around. Next year they will be attending Chapin High School together, which they are very excited about.


 

We relocated to Chapin SC in July of 2007 from Bluffton, SC where we lived for 12 years. There were many factors that formed this decision, but the single largest draw to this area was the great schools. Chapin offered one of South Carolina’s top performing public schools, which was very important to us as our children are both avid learners.


 

Together with our family we enjoy the beauty and recreation of Lake Murray, the friendliness and small town values of Chapin, and the excitement that Columbia has to offer. Lake Murray was a close second to the schools for bringing us to the mid-lands. We have enjoyed boating on the coast for years but Vicki and I both grew up boating with our grandparents on lakes in the Adirondacks. The freshwater was calling us and we followed.


 

Prior to moving to Hilton Head in 1995, then Bluffton in 1996, we both grew up in Montgomery, New York which is a small upstate town in the Hudson Valley. This small town is centrally located near Newburgh, Middletown, and New Paltz, NY which is not far from West Point. We find a striking similarity between the mid-lands and upstate NY. Both of these areas offer small towns, farmland, rolling topography, pleasant people, and great communities.
