Dick Dennis

As of February 14, 2009, I will have been married 55 years! Longevity is my name since I have been a real estate broker since 1971. I help people by answering their real estate questions. I also solve their real estate problems. Anything complicated requires compensation for my time. Allow me to let you know how complicated your question is.

I was born in New York City in 1931, but I have lived here in California since 1935, according to my parents. Up until just after we got married in 1954 I have lived in the Boyle Heights area of Los Angeles, at the time, mostly a Jewish neighborhood. It is now Mexican oriented. I graduated from Roosevelt High School and then went to Los Angeles City College where I majored in journalism. The ink is still in my veins.

I have been self-employed since 1958. At first I owned and operated Dick Dennis Displays. As an artist (I have been blessed with an aesthetic touch in almost anything I do) I created display windows for clothing stores, mostly women's wear. Did men's clothing, too. I left that business when I saw the handwriting on the wall as the first malls going up. That meant the end of  mom-and-pop women's and men's stores as they were known. Virtually none of them were qualified to be tenants in these huge malls. So I became a real estate agent in 1969. In 1971 I became a broker.

I presently live in Sun City with the zip code of 92586 since there are at least two other Sun Citys here in California alone. Our Sun City recently was annexed as part of Menifee, CA.

As a "Lone Wolf" type of broker, I work out of my residence and virtually live on this keyboard. My living room has been turned into my office. My wife's (Barbara) office is the second bedroom of the property.
