Lately, I've been trying to help clients who are struggling, (1) owing more on their house than what the market value is, (2) financial distress due to unexpected medical bills that have made them unable to pay their mortgage payment, (3) retirees and/or divorcees who have lost loved ones who were the bread-winners of the family and can no longer afford their house payment, (4) unexpectedly unemployed folks who've exhausted their savings and can't pay their mortgage any longer, etc. Times, they are "a-changin". During the real estate boom, buyers were buying in a seller's market. Now, in a buyers' market when buyers SHOULD be buying, they're not. Supply and demand has dictated the pendulum swing. Too much demand during the boom sellers' market has now swung the market pendulum to the complete opposite which is too much supply. The market is correcting itself and a normal market may not be in sight for another year or so, no one really knows for sure.
