About Me

I have  lived in Murrells Inlet, SC for over 32 years and raised 3 children as a divorced mother.   Murrells Inlet is a small fishing community located just 20 miles south of Myrtle Beach, SC.

I have been an owner/operator of my own business for many years.  Before becoming involved in real estate in 1995, I was Vice President of a construction related business with 30 employees.

In 1994 when my brother graduated from college, he couldn't decide what he wanted to do.  I was at a Christmas Party and talking to a very successful builder/real estate broker and asked him about the future for my brother in real estate.  The broker looked at me and said  "Susie, women are very good at real estate sales and you should do it".  In less than 6 months I was licensed and working with this broker as an agent.

Although it wasn't that long ago, when I first started in the real estate business we weren't using computers at all.  All you real estate folks that have been in the business for a while will remember those thick books that were delivered every 2 weeks with the latest new listings and penders.

Wow, has technology changed the real estate business.  The internet has made it possible for realtors and buyers and sellers alike.

I had sold many homes and in 2000 I realized that something was going on with ocean front condo sales.  I called an agent who worked with one of the biggest companies and decided that was for me.  I went to work for this company and did very well selling preconstruction sales of ocean front condominiums.

About 2002 I realized that I was not happy with the policies that this company had.  The policies were developer oriented and I have always believed that I should put my clients best interest first.  This created hardships for me and I finally decided that I would quit the company I worked with and go get my broker's license.  I did that and set up my company, Bluewater Properties.

Today I still specialize in ocean front properties that the majority of buyers use as an investment.  They use the condo for a few weeks a year and then rent them the remainder of the year for income.  I still sell several homes a year for primary and secondary use.
