• Jul. 22, 2008 - Real Estate Economy & Technology - Agents Must Master the Basics

With the housing industry experiencing both economic changes and technology changes, I thought a few blurbs on each would be benificial to all concerned. It's time for all Realtors, mortgage brokers and other ancillary businesses to get educated to the facts, share them with their contacts and become more aware of how the industry is being over-hauled. Here's a nice commentary by Dennis Kneale who tells it like it should be told vs. what you read in the media.

 Economy:
IS THE HOUSING CRISIS REALLY A "CRISIS"? In his commentary, Dennis Kneale crunches the numbers.

Realtor.org is another location for Realtors to stay abreast to the latest press releases, market stats and educational pieces that can passed on to your clients, customers, and the general public.

Another area to stay on top of the financial news that I recomend is the Bloomberg report.

Education:

Take the ePRO Class: e-PRO Certification is not only about technology. The e-PRO Certification Program will establish a baseline of online competence, and it will also introduce its students and graduates to the best aspects of Online Community.

The Webographers Course is an Exhaustive Training for Online Business Strategy, Agent Websites, Single-property Websites, Virtual Tours, Neighborhood Search, Lead Generation, Electronic Forms, Online Transaction Management, Mobile Technologies, Virtual Assistants and Blogs.

As a real estate trainer and consultant, I am available to assist you in all your marketing plans, technology, and taking your real estate career to the next level. Contact me if you’re interested in hiring a personal coach and consultant to help develop your business.

• Jul. 12, 2008 - Freddie & Fannie Need Overhauling?

I have been following John Mauldin’s emails and articles on the economy and his thoughts about challenges and solutions that we in the USA have to face head on. John has said recently in an article from his Frontline Thoughts that we need to Take Freddie Mac. Please. I would encourage everyone to follow this article and the other links included to see the seriousness of our situation at hand when it comes to the state of our economy. On the other hand, it would be wise of all of us to focus mainly on the solutions. That’s one thing I like about Mr. Mauldin’s writing is that he offers some solutions to the fiasco we are in.

On a lighter note, I always revert back to what Mother Theresa said when asked by a sympathetic spectator, what they could do to help the starving poor of Calcutta. Mother Theresa responded that “Your Calcutta is just down the street, go help someone in your own neighborhood or your own community and we can each help solve the world’s problems.

Maybe our financial duties need to start right here in our own household, business and community. What do you think?
