The Zillow Pact

Breaking news Zillow wants real estate listings on their site.

Don't write "Zillow" and no one will know about it? I think that was the plan last February when Zillow hit the www. If real estate bloggers wrote about Zillow we would be giving Zillow undeserved press. Some have remained pure, like Maureen Francis in Michigan, her first time, her My First Zillow Post Ever , today. A Zillow virgin.

Zillow is the blue line in the Alexa Graph below. Realtor.com is the red line in the graph. I don't think Zillow missed us.

I have blogged about Zillow..... a bunch of times. Click on the Zillow tag at the bottom of this entry.

I later made a pact with some blogger friends not to submit any entries to the Carnival of Real Estate because it is Zillow.... I submitted a blog to the Carnival a couple of weeks ago... pacts are made to be broken if they are dumb.

Zillow announced yesterday a number of new features, there will be real estate to look at on Zillow's site. We can submit listings, unrepresented sellers can submit listings.

If you bother to read any of these you will see opinions are all over the board about Zillow.

I lost my virginity and you broke a pact. Look what zillow is doing to us already. I guess I am done thinking that if we don't acknowledge them they will go away :-)

Zillow will take a spike again right now on Alexa, I suppose.

I started to reply to this a couple of times yesterday but did not really know what to say since I noticed changes in the Real Living and HER Real Living websites... when I went to get a link to the Zillow AVM. Thanks for the comment.

Drew, I participated once but I am not sure I will again. That may have been a temporary lapse in judgement. I did not even participate in the Active Rain hosted CORE this week. After Harley Jr. told me what to think about Zillow late on December 7 (although he did not mention blog Carnivals...) I did not submit anything. Thanks for the comment. Maureen
