Would appreciate hearing from others who use MS Exchange. I signed up yestersday for Mailstreet.com and am having issues that they don't seem to be able to resolve. I'm getting some emails and not others, that I know were sent to me. I can't do business this way, never knowing what business emails I am missing. Have spent a couple of hours with their tech support. I'm on a 30 day trial, so would really appreciate hearing from others who are getting good service. Thanks!

D'Ann I had the same problem when I signed up with Go Daddy's service and had to drop it. I was only getting a very limited number of emails.
I then went with www.123Together.com and they work flawlessly. With them there was never even any downtime when things got moved over to them. With Go Daddy they said your email would be down for up to 48 hours. With 123Together I never lost one email with no downtime. And the email, calendars and contacts go to my iPhone flawlessly also.
I would highly recommend that you give them a try.
Sincerely,

Not all Exchange Hosting companies are created equal, that is why I personally use (dumped my own Exchange Server box) and set up my clients with www.link2exchange.com
They are US based, speak English, have a great product mix, competitive pricing model, and outstanding customer service..
Also, they are willing to be creative with you, in order to make other apps run smoothly, etc., not all companies do this, it is their way or the highway...
Because we have working together for the past couple years, (a company officer lives here in Charlotte) and my focus is on Realtors, they truly understand your needs ,wants, and mindset, what it takes to make you happy..
One of the major issues in doing a hosted Exchange deployment is to manage all the forwards...I set up my clients with their exchange mailbox, then forward any/all of their other email addresses to the exchange mailbox...This is done in your email/domain hosts control panel, eg: GoDaddy, 1and1, etc..This can get tricky if not done right and would be responsible for lost emails..Also, most exchange providers use some kind of av/spam tool, and this can be hanging onto mail in an online mailbox, before it gets sent to the exchange mailbox...Check the rules to loosen em up if necessary...
Outlook can handle multiple email accounts, but only have one Exchange mailbox...So, you set up an Exchange connection, then if necessary, (for junk email) set up a pop/imap account and have it send the emails into another local personal folders/.pst file system, as not to take up space in the Exchange mailbox..
Your setting should be set up Outlook to connect for RPC over HTTP in Exchange Server tihs allows you to access the server over any internet connection..here's a Wiki article on it http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microsoft_Exchange_Server
They support all the mobile phone OS's; Crackberry, Palm, WinMobile and iPhone..So you can have it all literally in the palm of your hand...
You can set up several pc's to connect to your Exchange account and have all pc's synchronized in real time, a change made on one shows up on the others in nano seconds...
I can go on, but shall not...Hopefully you get the picture...As always, feel free to contact me directly and I will gladly answer any questions you might have...
For those of you interested in setting up an account with Link2Exchange, enter Peritus IT Solutions in the referral box, and get the set up fees waived....Please let me know you aer doing so, in order for me to insure that you do not get charged....

I would not conduct my business any other way but with Exchange. We utilize Exchange in a Team environment and it gives us the ability to share our contacts with everyone so that there is no repetition in data entry. I have been on Exchange for 4 years and love it. Granted I have been through a few providers, but am very happy with APPRIVER.com. Great support and a nice Outlook GUI for web mail.

Darrell and Randall, thank you very much for your thoughts on Microsoft Exchange Server. I don't like to publicly bash a company, but I am not having a good experience with MailStreet.com. There is one technician who is extremely polite, knowledgable and helpful, but my concerns are not being addressed: mainly, I am NOT GETTING ALL MY EMAIL. Their answer is that if they can send it, and I can receive it, then everything is fine. Also their server does something very strange with my website address within my "signature" --- turns it bright red and states that it is probably spam and faking another web address. I saw this for myself when a client responded to an email I sent her, by writing above mine. Anyway, I'll be canceling and either giving up the MS exchange or looking for a different provider. I will check both of the companies you two mentioned. Thanks again, it's good to be able to get help on this forum!!
I use 123together.com for my exchange service and have been extremely happy with it. Tech support if needed is very good, although when I call I ask for a Tier 2 support person. Been with them about 1-1/2 years and works great!

Re: Microsoft Outlook Exchange and the issues I have had with Mailstreet.com: it is only fair to state that the customer service has been very good. All problems are still not resolved, but I am going to stick with it a bit longer because they are TRYING. The red lettering in my outgoing email signature has been fixed. I have had other services that were costing a lot more than $10/month, and didn't get anywhere near the same level of assistance, so for this meager amount, to be given this much attention by their engineers, is admirable. Top Producer comes to mind as something that cost $40/month and they were never able to keep up with technology!! Anyway, I just wanted to report that Mailstreet.com is doing a good job & expect to ultimately have the product I want.
Wow - I am glad I found this during my visit to groups. I just recently transferred to Exchange Server and then transfered my database out of AgentOffice into Outlook based on our Exchange Server tech's recommendation and promise of training.
We used My Eco Tech who I believe has has with Xchange Xperts. I have to take responsibility for making an uninformed decision, and they can have the responsibility for lack of responsiveness and making assumptions about what we need or want (aka treating us like dumb salespeople). We too are in a team environment and thought the sharing of information would be useful.
I don't think our tech understood the team environment thing, and I see from reading one of the articles above that there must be confusion between having only one exchange box but having multiple emails. This is not only important in a team environment ,but it is also one of the precepts that ePro teaches about having different emails for tracking business.
Currently, I am not comfortable with it - lots of missed email - and no training is forthcoming so I will definitely look into the three recommendations made: 123together.com, link2exchange, and Appriver so at least now I am hopeful.
Does anyone have a recommendation as to where we can go to learn about Outlook and Contact Manager? I am very interested in documentation not only by contact but by transaction (by property) and I would like to get my database organized.
Thanks!
Vedana,
I have been using Outlook for years to manage both clients and properties (farm data base). In addition we have used exchange server which for the most part works seamlessly. If you change to Appriver or another exchange server you will still have the same Outlook format but a different server that costs you money in the long run. I would suggest you search locally for a new IT person to assist you with both. Outlook is easy once you get used to it and you will find that most people you come in contact use it so for setting appointments with invitations to attend and for attaching e-business cards, setting tasks which you can share with others on the network. There are many Microsoft Certified Tech people out there, check your local listings
I sure am glad I checked this discussion group. I am getting ready to setup my permanent email address and was looking for a good hosted exchange email provider. I was going to start with Mailstreet, but think I will pass on that and check into the other 3 that people seem to be most happy with.....
