<strong>SkyDrive - 25 Gigs of FREE online storage!<br /></strong><br />
This is all part of the latest buzz about "In the cloud" things... The <strong>cloud</strong> being a metaphor for the Internet. You can read my entire post at <a href="http://www.realtown.com/larry2/blog/skydrive-25-gigs-of-free-online-storage">The Real Blog</a> here on <a href="http://www.realtown.com">RealTown</a>.<br />
<br />
If you haven't heard about Microsoft's latest hot <b>FREE</b> feature, <a href="http://home.live.com/">SkyDrive</a>, then it's lucky you are reading this. While Microsoft will try to sell you the Windows Live service, the cost of which really isn't that bad, you can ignore that part of it and get what amounts to an absolutely free place to store up to <b>25 gigabytes</b> of files. What makes it even better is you have 3 basic folder types you can create on your <a href="http://home.live.com/">SkyDrive</a>.<br />
<br />
<b>1)</b> <b>Public</b> folders which you can share files with everyone.<br />
<b>2)</b> <b>Shared</b> folders which you can share files with select people.<br />
<b>3)</b> <b>Private</b>, secure, encrypted folders that only you can see.<br />

I have a huge file system in Outlook, as well as three separate archive folders.
</p>
<p>
One of my files "Clients" has dozens of subfolders. Everytime autoarchive takes places, several of these "inactive" files empty, but the architecture is there both in Personal Files and each archive folder. The real contents of these files is usually only in one archive file.
</p>
<p>
I'd like a way to delete all empty files, both in Personal Folders and the three Archive Folders. Any suggestions?

I'm just full of Outlook questions so I'm thrilled to have found this group!

<p>
I want to create a separate calendar for my prospect follow-up. I don't need it cluttering my main calendar. Unfortunately, it looks like it will NOT give me notices of things I need to do from auxillary calendars. I also noticed I can't flag them. Is this something I'm doing wrong or is it a limitation of Outlook?

About 3 months ago, my emails (both coming and going) acted strange with pictures.
</p>
<p>
Sending: When I open a new email, my stationary has my company and personal logos showing. If I have it open about 30 seconds, I get an X box in both those spots. When I send it, the recipient has the pictures but I don't.
</p>
<p>
When I receive pictures, only about 1/2 come through. The rest are an X frame (you know, the X in the corner with no pic). I have right clicked to "show picture" if there, but it does nothing. I can't figure out why it works for some and not for others, sometimes in the same email!
</p>
<p>
Both these things started to happen around the same time. Any suggestions?

There is a discussion in the RealTalk group about moving data from one CRM to another... I thought I would re-post my comment here in case anyone has questions about this issue. The discussion was centered on the TP data export... and its associated problems to those that want as much of their data as they can get. You are going to have data loss, some because TP doesn't export everything, and some because the exported data doesn't fit into some field in another program.... the posts were thus:
</p>
<p>
><strong>Jack quote:</strong><br />
> Yes, Top Producer can export the contact and listing data into a csv file.<br />
> However, very few programs can actually import what is exported.<br />
>> <strong>Cheryl quote:</strong><br />
>> Ugh, I couldn't agree more! I can't tell you the humongous hours I've<br />
>> spent over the years cleaning up TP export files, ugh - ugh - ugh!<br />
<br />
I couldn't agree more with Jack and Cheryl about exported TP data. I've been importing TP's data for customers since version 5. Outlook can't handle most TP data exports unless you severely limit the fields you export... notes? Forget about it! Strange non-standard CSV characters show up in many places and Outlook, and most other systems will just puke when they get to that part. I've also seen many, many exported TP databases that have corrupted sections in the export. I could obviously go on and on since i've been dealing with this problem for years, but you get the picture. <br />
<br />
You can get a simplified export to import into Outlook or just about any contact manager, but you lose a lot of information that you don't have to lose. Some "experts" even suggest that loss option is "Ok" ... or not really a big deal. Saying that a list of names and telephone numbers is acceptable after someone has been using something for years is wrong, and I disagree with those kind of statements completely. While you can't save everything that TP exports, the majority of it can be recovered...
</p>
<p>
Our product, <strong><a href="http://www.realeseller.com">RealeSeller</a></strong>, will recover the vast majority of exported TP data, and that even includes the properties! and their associated notes! If you want your TP data, give me a call and I'll show you that you can get more of what you want... not just some telephone and email list. Is there a way to set printing preferences by program? I don't like my printer to default to B&W because the majority of what I print I like in color. But I really don't need my Outlook messages to print in color. Is there a way to just make Outlook print B&W?
