Finding Time for it All |
Do you sometimes, or perhaps all of the time, feel that you are juggling too many things at one time? Time management is one of the most challenging aspects about real estate and life in general. There always seems to be so much to do and always so little time to get it done.
Finding the right balance between different aspects of our lives probably differs for each one of us. What might be enough down time for one might not be enough for another.
Real estate, like life, comes with its peaks and valleys. There are times we may be inundated with business and other times when we are wondering when the next transaction will happen. Fortunately it always does. Learning to make good use of the time when we are not as busy makes up for the times when we feel that we are doing nothing but work from morning to night seven days a week.
Making time for the other things that we enjoy certainly helps keep things in perspective when we find ourselves working round the clock. Reading is one of my passions and yet I allow too much time to go by without taking the time to read. I just treated myself to one of my favorite authors, Joyce Carol Oates. I read her book, "Because it is Bitter, and Because it is my Heart" and thoroughly enjoyed it. Of course, this happened while I was away on a short trip combining three of the things I most like to do: travel, time with my husband, and reading.
Family time is critical for most of us. We have to be careful to share enough of ourselves to those we love and that love us.
Finding time to travel, to indulge in photography, to play sports, whatever our fancy will equip us to do an even better job in our chosen profession. We embrace it with more enthusiasm when we balance our needs.
