Merchandise 95% Chinese.

Oct. 29, 2008

I didn't care before. It was just a question of competition. To buy where it is cheaper. But today I am concerned, I am a American citizen living in the USA for 15 years, and now I really don't known where our country is heading to.

Looking the merchandise at Cracker Barrel, about 95% was made in China. I don't have anything against China or any other country. But when we see more than 90% of goods coming from the same country, that means, something is going very wrong.

Outsourcing our jobs is the euphemism for selling out our nation. If I can't compete with another country I have to see how to beat them, not to surrender and for few bucks for a while, jeopardize all the future of our country.

If we don't have jobs here we can't buy, we close more factories and recession is just one more step.

I believe in the American ingenuity, we can automatize factories keeping the same personnel but multiplying the production and beat any other country in the price.

These are new times and we can't ignore the changes, but we can't follow their direction, pay less to our workers and slide in poverty. It is time to take America back to the track of higher production, less taxes and keep the division of wealth where the country keep their higher pattern of living.
