To Stage Or Not To Stage

Mar. 6, 2008
Categorized in: Real Estate Trends

Currently, it is common knowledge that the Florida real estate market is now a buyers' market.

What some sellers may not know is that savvy, creative sellers and Realtors are overcoming this market situation everyday. They are hiring ASP’s (Accredited Staging Professionals) to stage their properties in order to implement a successful marketing plan. These savvy sellers, with the assistance of their stager, are very successful in avoiding the massive price reductions and lengthy listing times that some have accepted as the “normal” state of our market.

An Accredited Staging Professional (ASP) is trained through Stagedhomes.com, and has been educated by the industry leaders to work with sellers on many levels. We all know that a vacant home will not show nearly as well as one that is furnished. However, an overly decorated home could be a negative as well. An ASP will do a comprehensive analysis of your property for market and give you a detailed report covering every inch of the home and its setting. He/she will recommend what improvements or changes are going to enhance the property and thus, the value.

The process of staging is beneficial for any home, by turning it into a “product”, one that can be seen in a very positive manner through the eyes of an interested buyer. Buyers, Appraisers and Real Estate Agents see staged properties as well cared for because in essence they are. It is a

well proven axiom that pristine homes sell higher and faster. Staging takes pristine to a much higher level.

Current statistics show that "staging" is becoming a mandatory step in the market we are in today. Be sure if you do hire a stager that he/she is accredited and trained within the staging industry. Always remember my motto that “Every Home is WORTH Staging”.

Your article on staging a home is very informative.  It is encouraging to know that there are services available to help a homeowner
to successfully market their home at this time.

Hi Katharine,

Thanks very much for visiting my blog and for taking the time to write a comment.  Here in the Jupiter, FL area where we have as much as a 47 month inventory of homes, it's very important to think creatively to get a home sold!

Please stop by again!
