Tasty Bites In Beaufort, South Carolina

The Lowcountry town of Beaufort, S.C. hosted its 10th annual, "A Taste Of Beaufort" on May 2, 2009. The H.C. Chambers Waterfront Park, downtown Bay Street, and the Downtown Marina were home to this annual event. Eighteen restaurants from Beaufort, Lady's Island, Port Royal, and the surrounding areas joined forces to allow each visitor to "dine" at all 18 restaurants in one afternoon. Lowcountry favorites such as Barbara Jean's crab cakes, Panini's brick oven pizza, and Beaufort Inn's southern shrimp sushi were just a few of the treats available for sampling. The Beaufort Gazette reported a crowd of 6,000 for this fabulous outdoor event. There was plenty of room to enjoy both delicacies and scenery among the live oaks and swings on the waterfront. Beaufort is situated uniquely for this event and others hosted throughout the year. Weather and gorgeous views of the river make this a perfect setting for people from all around to get a true "taste of Beaufort".
