What To Do On Hilton Head Island-Part IV |
Hello, again!
I was a really warm day on Hilton Head Island today! It is truly summer time! Tourists are here from all over the country and it is always interesting to see all the different license plates. Of course, many of our tourist friends fly in, but that is another story.
I have told you about many things to do while you are here on Hilton Head Island. There are many, many more! As I am fond of saying, It all about the lifestyle!
In this blog, I would like to tell you about one of my many favorite spots on the island. This is the Coligny Plaza shopping area. When I bought my first home in Hilton Head Island, it was a villa off of Forest Beach. What a great location!! I was an easy walk from the beach and a little more of a walk to Coligny Plaza. It is very easy to while away hours and hours at Coligny Plaza. The atmosphere is so laid back and relaxed! First, start your day at Java Joe's and /or Coligny Bakery. Or, in my case, both! There are other restaurants, like Skillets that also serve breakfast. Watching the steady stream of people enjoying life walk by is another favorite pastime. There is lots of shopping as well as a movie theatre and art cafe. You can have your nails done, get a hair cut, rent a bike, stop at the Internet Cafe or take Fido for a treat at Tail Waggers.
If breakfast is not your thing and you rise a little later, never fear. There are lots of places to grab a great lunch. Among these are Earle of Sandwich, Stu's Surfside Subs, Coligny Deli and Grill/The Ice Cream Cone and The Frosty Frog Cafe and Daquiri Bar. During the summer months, there are lots of Kiosks with a large variety of wares that can keep even the most dedicated shopper busy.
In the evening, the fun really begins! Monday thru Friday, Memorial Day thru Labor Day, there is outdoor evening entertainment. There are magic acts, reggae bands and even a weekly appearance by Elvis! Great dining at Steamers, Big Bamboo, and Just Pasta can be a great way to spend the evening and of course, finish the night out with a visit to the Frozen Moo or the Ice Cream Cone. Of course, a visit to Coligny Theatre can be a great way to beat the heat for a couple of hours. All of this and you are only steps away from the ocean!

This is just one of the things that make living, working or visiting Hilton Head Island a very special experience.
